New Week, New Post

I had a lovely time last night! Hubby and I went to our friends, the Irish's and had a nice time. We watched some football (sorta) and AFV where my Hubby's cousin won $10,000 for footage of his 11 month old son escaping from his crib. Very funny. I also got 3 of my book's back!

Last Saturday's run went so well! I got a Nike Run playlist and downloaded it on my MP3 player, devised a plan for my run (2 lap walk/ 11 lap run/ 2 lap walk/ 11 lap run/ 2 lap walk - 7 laps/mile) and I totally rocked it.

The playlist helped so much. I can't help but try to move to the beat. It was written by Crystal Method, who won a Grammy in 2005 for Best Electronic Music/Dance Album. The firts song was called "Starting Line" and the last one was called "Finishing Line". I can't wait to use it again. It was so much easier to move to the beat of the songs and I could let my mind wander and just keeping moving.

I focused on leaning back and picking up my knees higher while running. That will use more of my quads and less of my calves. The quads are big giant muscles that can take a lot of work. It's what they are for.

So I ran that 4 miles and felt great when I finished. I have never had a better run that I did on Saturday. I look forward to having more runs like that.
